Liveaboard Scuba Trips

Liveaboard dive boats are exactly what their name implies; a boat that has been converted or built as a floating hotel for divers. They become very useful when the dive sites are out of range of ordinary day trip boats, as is the case of a number of the best sites in the Andaman Sea.

Over the last few years they have become very popular in Thailand and there are a number of operators offering liveaboard cruises from Phuket, with varying standards. The boats represented on this site have been carefully selected as high quality, experienced vessels. The operators and their staff are experienced professionals with a track record that we are familiar and comfortable with. Food, service, diving expertise and site knowledge is excellent on all the boats; this is the minimum we require.

The cruise price includes transfer hotel-boat-hotel around Phuket , accommodation in air-conditioned twin/double cabins with en-suite bathroom, all meals, snacks, fruits, coffee, tea, drinking water, 12 liter tanks, weights, divelight and divemaster service.

Remarks: The Similan & Surin Marine National Park fees are currently 1,600 baht per Diver and 800 baht per Non-diver and are not included.

MV Sai Mai

The Sai Mai is a 70' purpose built diving vessel that has founded her reputation on providing comfortable, highly personalized diving for a maximum of eight guests. With small dive groups and a friendly knowledgeable crew the Sai Mai gives top value diving in the waters of Thailand and Burma.

Full GPS and communications are on board along with twin engine and generator redundancy and of course the important life raft and emergency oxygen.

The Sai Mai offers two different itineraries:

Similans/Surin cruise 4d/5n Diver: 650 Euro (standard) 790 Euros (deluxe)

Burma Safari, 8d/9n Diver: 1,580 Euros (standard) 1,780 Euros (deluxe)

MV Angel 1

Angel One is a newly rebuilt liveaboard with modern diving and navigation equipment. It is a 25 meter long and 5 1/2 meter wide vessel able to operate offshore under any weather conditions. With a 450 hp marine diesel engine, it reaches a cruising speed of 12 knots. Two brand new Coltri Sub Scuba compressors along with new Mares rental equipment ensure that diving will be safe and enjoyable. The lower deck contains the galley, two head/shower combinations, accommodation for 12 guests, a staff quarter, and a comfortable salon with sofa, TV, video, and stereo system. The upper deck is equipped with a covered dining area and a huge sundeck. The safety equipment includes oxygen, first aid kit, life jackets, CB radio, GPS, sounder and fire extinguisher.

MV Angel 1 operates a flexible schedule as it remains at the Similans, whilst transport to and from the mainland is by speedboat. The dive schedule covers the Similan Islands, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai.
