A combination of remote community outreach and trekking/caving in Thailand's 3rd longest cave.

4166Tham Khii Mii : Muang Khong

MK-Location-Map

The Muang Khong Valley is  in the North Eastern part of Chiang Mai Province, Northern Thailand, the district is almost 100 kilometers north of Chiang Mai city and surrounded by National and forestry reserves. This is the location of our Northern Wild Lodges., encompassing some of the country’s most spectacular scenery.

For this expedition we loop behind Doi Chiang Dao peak ( at 2000m 3rd highest in Thailand) to the Muang Kong valley. Once entering the valley (where the road ends) we begin our adventure.

Activities within the program

53Activities within this program include: Navigation and free camping,  trekking, caving and a community project based around interaction and construction.

NOTE: Some activities are  dependent on weather and may require changes on the day according to site conditions & dynamic Risk Assessment

A specific program that benefits the local community will be proposed. This can either be funded from within the program or via additional fund raising within the school. Interactive sessions with local schools can also be arranged. For example: there are a number of schools that need help with basic educational facilities as funding comes from community budgets and is by no means annual. Within our outreach program we select Thai / hilltribe schools and assist in practical terms aiding with the repair and refurbishment of classrooms, provision of sports facilities or renovation of community areas and buildings. At the same time students will be asked to interact during some lessons with the school children
